This elegant Victorian, built in 1910 is a much admired landmark in Bridgewater. It is commonly referred to as "The Steamboat House" so named by Carl Sandburg (a friend of a previous owner) when he noted how it resembled a Fall River Steamboat. It has been restored beautifully to its original authenticity with architectural details and elaborate woodwork, paneling, and molding. The third floor has a separate apartment. There is even an elevator. The covered porch wraps around three sides encompassing almost 1200 square feet. A lovely carriage house in back has 3 garage bays and spacious loft space. The house sits on almost two acres of spectacular landscaped grounds which pre-date the house and were designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead.
